It feels great when your photography is rewarded, used for billboards at the National Auditorium in Alicante to promote the 2024/25 concert season. As a photographer on the Costa Blanca, I regularly go to Alicante to photograph the concerts, conferences and events taking place at the National Auditorium. I am in Alicante so regularly I am now seen as an Alicante photographer.
Toward the end of 2024, I was contacted by the graphic design and marketing team from the National Auditorium In Alicante, and was informed that five of my photos had been selected to be displayed on the facade/entrance to the auditorium.
Each photograph used for the facade was of a different concert I photographed during the 2023/24 season in Alicante. All their concerts were really visual and the lighting was incredible, which made my event photography really stand out.
With a quality lighting technician that illuminates the stage, using various tones, it makes my photography so much easier and more creative. You can read more about my work with the orchestra in a previous post I wrote.
The National Orchestra in Alicante – ADDA Simfonica is incredible, and has been nominated for a Grammy in the USA and has also won a Latin Grammy Award as well. I highly recommend visiting the auditorium in Alicante, it is an amazing space and the classical concerts are incredible.
As an Alicante photographer, not only do I photograph the the concerts, I also regularly photograph events and conferences at the ADDA auditorium and around Alicante.
My Alicante photography assignments have taken me all over the province. From Torrellano, next to the Alicante-Elche Airport, to the Hotel Meliá Alicante in the harbour as well as the Meliá Villaitana above Benidorm, near Finestrat.
The Hotel is a massive complex. Apart from accommodation, the hotel serves as both an event and conference location, it has lots of sporting facilities as well as a golf course.
Photographing a corporate event inside in a conference hall, and then being summoned outside to photograph a sporting event was a challenge. I had to adapt very quickly to extremely different lighting and colour balance.
Each photography assignment has been different, with hugely contrasting requirements. The Meliá Villaitana photography was really challenging. Apart from photographing the main conference, I had ten other locations to travel to, from Guadalest to Bodegas Enrique Mendoza in Alfaz Del Pi to photograph a cheese and wine tasting event for the conference attendees. I was then required to go to the Jardín de l’Albarda in Pedreguer to photograph the attendees participating in a conservation event. It was a stunning summer’s day in Alicante and we all enjoyed being outside.
For once I was not confronted with low light that corporate and event photography are normally photographed in.
